Message OK ... after 15 years of use (84,500 mi) I've decided that it's time to REBUILD! I've been anticipating this since the day I bought my Z (3 years ago) and plan to do my major engine mod's all at once. I hope to drop in a SOLID engine that is streetable, and able to support any future upgrades.

I'm shooting for the most consistent turbo's (minimal lag) with ~600HP capability. I'd like to spend the occassional weekend doing laps and/or 1/4 mi at the local track. I only put on ~3-4K mi per year (Damn Canadian winters).

I've been skimming the 300zx forums and part supplier pages for over 6 years and have a reasonable knowledge of options, but with so many these days I'd like to hear about proven combinations to fit my budget and goals! I've also recently heard about new turbo options :-)

I've completed lots of "bolt-on" mod's and the previous owner had a few things including the 60K done at Ultimate Z. UNFORTUNATELY I do not have the tools/experience to pull the engine and build it myself. So I'll probably go with something from IPP OR I will recruit VUK from AMS to piece something together. Hypothetically if I didn't have a budget I could easily spend $25,000 in parts... Unfortunately I'm not super wealthy... But I do have a very expensive obsession.

So if YOU had the option to rebuild your engine - and your budget was around 15,000 what would YOU DO...

Here's what I'm working with (current mod's):

Stillen SMIC
555cc injectors (not sure if sufficient for 2530/700 turbo's)
JWT ECU
JWT Street Clutch (assuming it'll have to go)
Greddy MBC
GD 4 bolt DP's (assuming I'll have to upgrade to 5 bolt)
Cat Back HKS Exhaust
Stillen Dual POP

Here's what I was thinking:

IPP Route - ~ 9,500 for Stage VI longblock
~ 4,000 for turbo's - HKS 2530's or 700's
~ 2,000 MS manifolds, RAD, Clutch
+ Shipping and install

AND I've already blown my budget! Apparently very easy to do.
